Tiny Fonts, Icons, Menus.... How to Enlarge

#1 Post by limotux »

I just installed KDE.
I noticed that all fonts, icons, everything is so tiny and hardly readable. (old man with reading glasses here).

Al I could do was:
- Application Menu-> Display and I increased display to 125%
- Zoom in Firefox
- Enlarged Task bar a little

So, it is almost OK, but still the fonts when I hover on buttons in Task Bar and in Application Menu are so tiny.
I am worried to play with fonts so I won't get the issue I had before (here: https://www.forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic ... 75#p783875)

How can I get fonts a bit larger without having this issue I had before with funny spaces in Bash or messing up the system?

I don't mind using the command line.
I just need all things a bit larger and readable.

I will appreciate your guidance.

I changed the font as per the other thread.
I wonder why just changing the font size caused the same issue (Fixed as in other thread)

My HP 15 has the same 1920 x 1080 resolution as your Spectre and in XFCE I had to increase the fonts DPI setting to 110. I expect that you are going to have to do the same thing in KDE.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

1920 x 1080 resolution on my Samsung monitor. Fonts DPI to 120 is very readable using KDE for these old eyes.

Thanks @richb and @j2mcgreg
When I selected fonts their size were only 8 and 10
I changed them to 10 and 12 to be readable

The problem was in font size
How was your default font sizes?

I will play with DPI and see.
Though the issue is not the resolution it is the size of font
