what is a good PDF reader on linux?

I have tried many PDF applications on linux like master PDF editor, Okular, Evince etc. I was overall satisfied with the features that master PDF editor came with but when i need to copy texts from a PDF file, I can only copy from one page at a time. Another problem I face with master PDF Editor is that whenever I open a PDF file it always starts from page 1 even; it does not remember what page I was on the previous time. Luckily Okular does not have these two issues. However, annotating a PDF document with Okular is very annoying e.g., if i want to highlight a word I have to preselect highlight option and then highlight. Whereas i can just double click a word in Master PDF Editor and then choose highlight from the pop-up menu. Now, is there a PDF reader on linux that does not have any of these 3 issues? If not I see no options other than having to use windows as I am a student and I mostly work with PDF files

Adobe acrobat reader and Foxit pdf reader. And they do not have any of these issues even on the free edition.

Both are available for linux, however as I recall the Adobe reader is like on windows - only a few things can be done.

I personally thin the free version of Master PDF editor (version 4) is the best that I have encountered, but there are quite a few out there. And there are other tools that can make up for any of its shortcomings. ( probably not 'keeping your last location' though. )

i tried the flatpak version of adobe acrobat but it can only open pdf files; i cannot annotate anything like highlight or underline. The linux edition of foxit is very buggy - I open a pdf file and it crashes after a few minutes. Also it has not been updated since 2017

Ayup, this is why I like Master PDF editor - for me, this is the best I have found.

If you change the settings in Master PDF editor, to save History (Restore last location and restore last view) .. then just close the app where you are - and open the app (NOT open the PDF!) , then it will take you immediately to where you were.

For the copying issue - two things I can think of.

First, you can insert the entire pdf your working on, and then rearrange it. ( ie multiple copy ) or,

second use PDF Arranger.. it can do some pretty cool things.

i meant copying texts from the PDF document and not the document itself
