Firewall is new on MX, so could be that.
IIRC i have it running on my MX21 since I installed it, too. So it has been activated before I installed the printer.
MX23, deactivated UFW. and NO print - the message in the window switched to "printer may not be connected", haven't restarted after deactivating UFW.

I already installed "numlockx" and rebooted and it didn't work, then I tried modifying the file in "/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf" adding the line: "greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on" with no positive results. It doesn't reach the Login, I had to delete that line to get the system to start.
Any suggestions?
Did you try the num lock settings in XFCE Setting Manager >> keyboard? Not sure it affects the login screen itself, but hopefully should enable numlock to your session.

In MXtools, there is keyboard - the one with the grey icon. Very first toggle is activiating the numblock at start up. And yes it works at the login screen already ;)
it worked in MX21 like that already.

For Brother MFCs, you may need to go to the Print Settings interface, and in the Printer's preferences>> settings, change the location ( Device URI) to the actual IP address that your printer is using. Which means you may need to change your printer's IP location (done from the printer itself) to a static address, like 192.xxx.x.xxx

Didn't need to do something like this in MX21 - that's what baffles me a bit.
I'll try it and report back.

Non the less, if you're a newbie to linux and the printer thingy already recognizes and installs your printer, it should work (like it did in MX21) ;)

Now in MX23 RC3, it took quite some time till the network printer showed up, clicking forward as I did in MX21. It is installed, yet nothing is being printed. Would love to add a log or such :D

I use snapshot to customize the distro, I prefer systemd as default booting, I modify the grub, cfg,
but, it seems grub.cfg is regenerated, my modif is not there, how to do it?

Secondly, I think the sudo group should be removed from /etc/adduser.conf, otherwise allusers can become Superuser!!!!
regards

you are free to configure your groups as you wish. we will keep the sudo defualts as-is.

mx-user manager has an option to create users that are not part of the sudo group, if you don't want to modify the defaults.

Create your additional users using MX User Manager and removing the new user's sudo rights is really easy if you wish it that way:
