I think the problem is in the kernel update, and not in the modem.
You can test this by going to Advanced Options on the grub screen and select the older kernel.

Apparently support for that PCI ID number was added to the rtl8xxxu kernel driver with kernel 6.2. We have a wide selection of kernels newer than that available. You should also update firmware-realtek from Debian backports with MXPI. We also have it in AHS, but installing the backports version with MXPI lets you just do one package.

Yes, I bought a new Wi-Fi adapter and I want to install it.
There is a link to download the package, so I can download and install it.
I appreciate your help.
I'll wait, thanks
Thank you. :fox:

The kernel used in the link you provided shows 6.1.0-23-amd64.

Have you tried a 6.2 or later kernel?

mx linux could automatically recognize the adapter, the most commonly used standard is 802.IN Adaptador WiFi , Adaptador WiFi Dual Band Usb Adapter AC1200 Mbps wifi after updating the kernel.
I will look for the driver here and try to install it on the website.
I don't trust the website, only the mx linux store for installation.
Thank you

I haven't tested the new kernel yet, I update as the mx linux distro sends the update packages by default in the green box, I don't install updated kernels due to driver instability and bugs, I hope to get to the mx distro by default and update :fox:

I will wait for the update directly from the distro, thanks for the answers :cat:

The drivers one downloads from Realtek are absolute garbage, to be kind. There aren't any updates coming from MX to fix wi-fi on 6.1 kernels.

A 6.1 kernel update from Debian should not break wi-fi, so usually there's more to the story. Can you boot with the Live system where you said the wi-fi was working, and give us a QSI from that?

Good afternoon, yes, the wifi was working when you installed the MX Linux distro for the first time

After updating MX Linux, the wifi stopped working :fox:

I'll wait for the kernel to update and use the cable directly on the network card.

Thanks
