Sounds to me like it's a hardware fault. In my experience (+50 yrs) , if electronics are going to fail they do it within the first 10 power on hours or after 5 years.
Just Murphy's law that it happened after an OS reload. Sudden death is a co-incidence.
After 10 years, I finally got around to calling my ISP to replace my cable modem. I made a few configuration changes to my firewall to support the new cable modem that didn't help. Realizing I may need to reboot in order for those changes to take effect, I powered the box down and it never came back up again. After 14 years, that machine finally gave up the ghost, and all it took was one last power cycle to put it down.

Hi!
I installed MX 23.1 on a new laptop Umax N14G, then restarted and now it does not boot, no post massages, no picture, cant even go to bios, power led is on. Factory Win10 worked fine before MX install. What could go wrong?
I couldn't find anything helpful on your specific model, but there are enough reports on Umax's other laptops to indicate that this brand is not Linux friendly:
https://www.google.com/search?q=umax+n1 ... s-wiz-serp
and that even if you do manage to get MX or another distro installed, WiFi and audio are going to be non-starters.
My advice is to return it as defective and get yourself a more reliable brand.

When you say MX 23 was installed on the machine, does that mean you were at first able to boot the Live Session of MX 23?
Yes, i installed from a live session, wiped the whole ssd first, after finishing the install, its rebooted and from that time just a black screen.

Is it possible for you to take the ssd out, then connect to another pc and have a look? At least just out of curiosity.
It seems to be just a coincidence cause at least Bios should've been there .
