Guide to Fix / Skin Firefox Icons

#1 Post by CharlesV »

The recent changes in Firefox have brought some changes in how icon themes work and has broken many of the current themes out there. It used to be that when you applied a theme you had both a visual image on the top banner area, *and* icons that would replace the default icons. Somewhere around Firefox 78 this all changed, with Firefox moving to using custom css to create a method to ‘skin’ icons.

And now with the Firefox 112 release, it broke much of the icon skinning css too. These instruction define how I fixed mine and how to make your own custom icon themes as well.

Here is an example with:
- Upper Header theme, and
- Full custom icons
