Small Feature requests for MXPI

#1 Post by retroD0d0 »

Hello Devs, had a couple of super-low priority feature requests for the Magnificent MXPI. I use the Enabled Repos tab quite a bit myself. Wondering if the following are possible?

1. Having it default to the 'upgradeable' filter after a package list refresh, rather than 'All'. Assuming that this is the filter most frequently desired after hitting refresh?
2. Having a "select all' checkbox (to make individual package de-selection more practical).
3. Having "hide library/developer packages" checkbox retain state.

Thanks for the Great Work and have a Great Day everyone!

Thanks for the suggestions, #3 is a good one and easy to implement. Not sure about showing the upgradable filter when hitting refresh, normally you should not even hit refresh, I think I will leave that like that for now.

As for "Select all" I didn't think that was needed because there's a "Upgrade all" button that shows up, but you are right it might be more convenient to select all and then uncheck some. I will add only for "Upgradable" and "Autoremovable" filters, it doesn't make sense to select all for other. The checkbox is now in the header -- might not be obvious, but I cannot really add text there -- there's however a hint when you over it.

Update coming shortly.

Thanks @Adrian for implementing those changes so quickly, much appreciated. Regarding #1, I believe there may be a scenario (or two?) where new packages aren't detected unless you hit the refresh button. One scenario I have positively identified is that if the 'upgradeable' package list is not empty. See before and after pics below.

I already make it a habit of hitting refresh before every manual update on Enabled Repos.
