MX Boot Options - Boot to drop down

#1 Post by advice1010 »

MX Linux 23.4 XFCE

Might be a little confusing, might be AHS related.
If you open up MX Boot Options there is a Boot To drop down.
In this drop down it shows

MX 23.4 Libretto
Advanced options for MX 23.4 Libretto
First question is, I notice you can actually select this in the drop down, am I right in saying that this is just a "header" for the two options below, or does this actually do something?

Then there are two options with liquorix kernel which is my second question.
MX 23.4 Libretto, with liquorix
MX 23.4 Libretto, with liquorix (systemd)

The systemd one makes sense, but it the one above it I have a question about.
Say I have "MX 23.4 Libretto" option active, if I go into terminal and type in
uname -r
it shows that the liquorix kernel is active/being used.
So is there any difference between these two items? or are they the same?
MX 23.4 Libretto
MX 23.4 Libretto, with liquorix

Thank You

In this drop down it shows ...
.. the menuentry and the submenu entry labels from the GRUB menu.
That's it. If you don't know what they are doing, maybe try them out,

Hint, "Boot to" :p
- obviously on subsequent boots.

MX's init default is "SysVinit", which obviously can be seen in QSI.

Cheers!
