Google Drive in Dolphin?

First I want to apologize to everybody if I caused any mess by replying to an old thread. I just thought I should not create a new thread for the same question!
The thread was 3 years ago here viewtopic.php?t=65718

It was clear then that it is a KDE problem.

So, the same question remains (for me at least), is it possible to get my Google drive in Dolphin by adding an online account?

Back then it was not possible (like 3 years ago).

Is it possible now?
Anyway I can get my Google drive in Dolphin or as I get Dropbox?

Thanks again.

I have googled of course, but unfortunately I found contradicting info and no clear straightforward answer yes or no!

For example the link you gave me says it is broken, but https://www.kubuntuforums.net/forum/gen ... th-dolphin gives instructions on how to get it (Ubuntu forum - July 2023)

Another reddit post here https://www.reddit.com/r/kdeneon/commen ... o_dolphin/, you may notice a user saying
For some strange reason, all the reviews of recent versions of kio-gdrive seem to complain about various issues.

However, when I installed it, I had none of those issues.

Thanks for the suggestion!
and another saying
one option is rclone, cus kio-gdrive is sooo slow.
....
An issue I don't seem to experience, but thanks for the warning.
which means the first user says it is working but slow, the other replying it is not slow for him, i.e. it is working!

This is why I thought to ask the users here who night already have it or not have it.

i do not know if this works but have you tried grive. It is in the repos.
Edit: I see it is no longer maintained and replaced by grive2.

It was so strange to see such contradiction!
I think I will try it on the live USB stick and see how it goes. What do you think?

I came across it.

I wonder if anybody here tried it.
I might try on a live USB stick and see.

Google-drive-ocamlfuse is in our repos: https://github.com/astrada/google-drive-ocamlfuse

and allows you to mount your google drive in Linux.

Have you looked at using RClone and RClone Browser. That is what I use for Google Drive, Box and Dropbox. You can also use other services as well. I open and mount each of those services into a folder using rclone browser. You can also put in the rclone commands into your init files.

Those folders can be treated as folders that are in your local storage, even though they reside in the ether. This way I don't use up my local data storage, unless I really need to, in which case, I copy the file to a local location.
