KDE, MTP, KaiOS device, file types not recognized

I have a Nokia 2720 Flip, which is a KaiOS device (marketed as a "smart feature phone"). When i connect the phone to my laptop via USB, KDE connects to it via MTP and Dolphin shows the files on it, with all the correct extensions, but without recognizing their media types, and showing all the files as plain text. This extends outside of Dolphin, too, as my image, photo and music apps that usually interact with MTP (Gwenview, digiKam, Strawberry) claim there are no photos, images or music on the device, but there are. If I force the files (whether it is picture, audio, video, or a document) to open with the correct application, they work normally; if I copy them to my PC's SSD, the mime types get recognized correctly. All file operations I do with Dolphin on the device are successful. It's just the that the file types are entirely unrecognized by KDE as long as the files are on the device and seen through MTP, which reduces the usability. The device doesn't have a classic mass storage option for USB connections.

I don't have the same issue with my Android tablet, which makes the issue all the more mysterious to me.

Does any one have any similar experience, or any idea what could cause this behaviour and how to possibly solve it?

I just plugged in my Cat B35 with KaiOS V2.5 and I can play audio and view pictures OK.
My System:
Beelink-U59-Pro-N5105_PC
MX-21.3, Plasma 5.2.5
Kernel 6.5.0-4mx-AHS

I also tried my Mint 20.1 PC and it seem OK on that too.
