I'm a regular user of MX LInux but new to AV Linux. I installed it on my Samsung T7 external SSD because I like messing with audio stuff.

I have tried Enlightenment before and have always found it quirky though nice looking. It's been 2 days and I am seeing the quirkiness here as well. Here's a rather insignificant example: I've noticed sometimes buttons look greyed out like they are unavailable when they are. I had an OKAY that looked greyed next to a CANCEL that looked normal, but the OKAY button worked fine. Or a text box says "Search" in it before you type your search term, and when you click inside the box, the word "Search" doesn't disappear until you actually type something. Weird stuff like that.

Another wierd one was when I was attempting to set up dual monitor positioning. I found the place where you do it (you select which monitor and choose above/below, etc.) and when I clicked Apply, the wallpapers on both screens suddenly blew up to like 1440000x900000. I don't know what the hell happened. I scrolled and scrolled to find the dialog box again and somehow managed to get it back to normal after trying various things. But there didn't seem to be any reason for this happening.

I'm using a Dell Precision 3541. It has an onboard video card with an additional Quadro P620. I'm not sure which card AV Linux is using. I did not install the Nvidia driver.

If I wanted to install a different DE, which one would fit best with the AV Linux OS as it is now. XFCE? What about window manager and the login display manager? Would I need to change those?

I've admittedly never set up dual monitors with the Enlightenment positioning, I've always just swapped around cables until each is where I want.. I have noted that Bodhi Linux (another Enlightenment-based Distro) simply uses arandr which you could install and try but if you're set on something else I would suggest installing XFCE4.. Just note I haven't done any theming or stuff to make it look pretty so you'll get what you get.. If you install XFCE4 from the MX Package Installer "Popular Applications" tab you'll get the MX Linux defaults...

Installing other DE's isn't forbidden of course but it's not something I really have time to support..

I had the same issue with my dual monitor setup, my right one was "left" of the other, Enlightenmentwise, which means i had to go to the right edge of the right screen to move the mouse into the left screen. If I told the right screen it was right of the left one in the screen settings, both resolutions blew up like you described.
Telling the left one it was left of the right was what made them do what they should. I hope that made sense somehow.

Hi. I am still using AV Linux with OpenBox on 3 monitors and will have to take that into consideration when installing the new version. I didn't want to make a previous upgrade because of the forced reinstallation and I like the openbox version. But now I'm going to be forced to convert. :) Thank you @AVLinux for your work. I will definitely have to make a donation.
