@fluddsskark

Your link doesn't work.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

I fear this Steam place will too 'suffer' the same fate as the #antiX (8, 1b) and #mxlinux (12, 1b) fan-created IRC channels. There are no developers, no expert helpers, or even advanced users.

Just a day after day of tumbleweeds blowing through, some getting irritated that such a place exists without help. Most have no clue about IRC protocols. They leave after their question hasn't been answered in 5 minutes. For reference in IRC, five hours would be considered short.

Just as sad is the fan, also 'with a vision' that created and registered these two IRC channels 2+ years ago hasn't been seen in months! So these IRC channels live on, forever in semi-functioning existence.

ugh, I used to be in too may IRC channels for help purposes, never fun. There are monitors that can be used to see when someone posts... if that is something someone wants to explore.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

Yeah, I know of a few monitoring tools. I have all notifications turned off. I also used to be a higher-activity user back in the day. Generations Y & Z have no use for IRC it looks like.

An unfiltered channel #mxlinux capture of 3 days of activity - nothing but (a non IRC description) door opens, peeks in for a bit, and then leaves. Others on shakey network connections do a dosey-do of in and out without human involvement.

Code: Select all

Similar quietness in most of the 30+ Ubuntu channels. An exception is almost zero join/part happening with no chat.

Debian in both their 'support' and 'off-topic' channels are fairly active. Lesser for the other 10+ channels they have on OFTC. Go figure!
