Hello I am running mx23 and I have a Brother HL-1110 laser printer monochrome using usb connection and I am always having trouble because of the brother drivers,can anyone recommend a wireless monochrome printer possibly with a scanner in the UK please?

What's your budget?

Hopefully no more than £100

I had one of those printers for a number of years, and had no problem with the drivers. it was one of the most reliable printer set-ups ever. I'm surprised it gives you a problem.

The cheapest mono laser with a scanner I can find is the HP LaserJet MFP M140we. You can find it for £120, only a bit over your budget Reports say is works well with Linux. I very much doubt the build quality will much the Brother however.

OK thank you,after what Chris said I will keep the Brother printer and try and resolve the driver problem,I installed cups for it and the Brother driver but when I do a test print there is no print on it?

I don't see your model number but I used one for a very similar model and it worked OK.

Not sure if you'll want the Driver Install Tool or the LPR or CUPS - I don't know this stuff! I followed fehlix's advice and all went OK.

I assume you tried Print settings from the menu to see if it's recognized.
