Old 5.10.x Kernel in MX-23 (XFCE)

#1 Post by FraterLinux »

I tested some Kernels on my old Dell OptiPlex 390. The old Kernel series 5.10.x is faster than 6.1.x and Liquorix. The system as a whole is more responsive and mainly multimedia. Does the old Kernel 5.10.188-antix that is in the MX Installer receive a security update?

It won't be auto-updated. You can install newer ones (dot releases) again when you see in Popular Apps.

How often, on average, will there be new versions of 5.10.x?

antiX packagers, to be more exact.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

Yes... But it would be redundant to ask for a 5.10.x kernel in the MX repositories if an antiX kernel already appears in the MX installer. Or not?!

Is every two months or every three months a good frequency to check for a new version?
