Noticed in a recent update/upgrade that new version of virtualbox-guest-utils and virtualbox-guest-x11 were upgraded, curious I entered virtual in the program search box and nothing shows?

A search via nala brings up the following;

Code: Select all

sudo nala list virtualbox
virtualbox 7.0.10-dfsg-2~mx21+1 [MX repository/bullseye ahs]
└── x86 virtualization solution - base binaries
Entering virtualbox at the command line says Command 'virtualbox' not found, but can be installed with:
sudo apt install virtualbox-qt

Why would parts of a program that is not installed get upgraded?

Geoff

certain parts are preinstalled, to have things work if mx is used in a virtualbox machine. things like common clipboard and dynamic screen resizing. there are a few other vm systems supported this way.
