window placement="at the centre of the screen" ignored

#1 Post by neverdimed »

in windows manager tweaks i selected "at the centre of the screen" on the placement tab but windows are not opened centred. I have another machine running MX where it works however. I give the QSI for the machine where it is not working, thanks

This wont be helpful I am afraid, but I have only seen a select group of applications follow this properly. Almost all of the MX tools do, and a few of the simple xfce tools do, but the rest flat out have never worked that properly my machines.

I thought it was my 3, 4 or 5 monitor setup messing it up, however it doesnt work on my laptops, nor test machines either.

Just a guess or stab at it, does the size slider above it help, or is the window(s) in question small?

The slider also works for me.

CharlesV

Did you try to change the size of the window you want to open.?

CharlesV, I simply assumed that you tried it, but I thought it may have been changed or something and that it might work for the OP maybe/perhaps/possibly….

I think that is a smart place to look but the script is a little old.
I would ask about his advice first.
ToZ is still there friendly and better than ever.
