Hi,
is there a specific space where an MX Linux customization can be annouced not behaving as a spammer, but just as a contributor of the community?
Maybe some page with a list of customizations where one can ask to be added?
Thank you very much
Is there a space where to announce a new MX Linux customization
Re: Is there a space where to announce a new MX Linux customization
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Actually, if it is a respin, that goes here: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewforum.php?f=127

Re: Is there a space where to announce a new MX Linux customization
Hi,
thank you all!
Since it is just a customization made with MX Snapshot (with Resetting accounts option), I created a post under "MX Modified"
https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewforum.php?f=100
Is this assumption correct or it may be ok also under "MX Respins" ?

In this case MX Modified is the correct place.

Isn't modified for questions on OWN things, and respins for things that get spread to other users to download?

Re: Is there a space where to announce a new MX Linux customization
My interpretation that this case is modified in that he used functions within the official release to make changes and then packaged it. As opposed to a respin that makes major changes not available in the MX released ISO.

I thought 'modified' is where you ASK questions on an install that is significantly modified, eg you switched to gnome desktop, runit init system, etc.
"respin"is where you announce your own respin (snapshot iso) made for other people's use, no matter how minor the changes from main release.
Then if people have support issues with your spin, they post in your announcement thread.

It has been moved to Respins.asqwerth wrote: Mon Apr 24, 2023 10:30 pm I thought 'modified' is where you ASK questions on an install that is significantly modified, eg you switched to gnome desktop, runit init system, etc.
