Karen created today this new page at my request:

https://mxlinux.org/hardware/

I was thinking of using it for pre-installed equipment (laptops, USB keys, DVDs, etc) since @chrispop99 has found a couple that I did not exist and we still get questions about it.

Karen liked the idea b/c
I spent some time this weekend working with a 2015 MacBook Air my daughter passed down to me. What worked flawlessly to boot a 2009 Macbook did not for the Air.
I like that use, but have no idea ATM how we would populate it. There are good entries in the Wiki and on the Forum, and maybe for now we just collect and link them.
Production: MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: MX-25 Fluxbox, ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 9 with i7
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

could be useful.

for populating existing hardware, like the macbook, perhaps some sort of standardized format for folks to fill out. maybe even a web form that populates a new entry under hardware.

things to include: quick-system-info, any special boot codes or startup instructions. what works, what doesn't work.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

It seems a good idea and I had a quick look at the page.
My initial thought was: should a date field on the hardware appear early on in the descriptor?

I suppose, but for me the most important hang-up is getting someone to do the work--I have little extra MX time available.

Some distros have long lists of specific hardware where the distro has been installed successfully, and that is user-driven.

Aronticuz suggested including dates, perhaps this site may provide some ideas as to what to include:
