missing menu entry at shutdown menu

#1 Post by django013 »

Hi,

usually when you configure session to "restore manually saved session" on startup, the shutdown menu contains a menu-entry to save current session.
Well, that's what I know from debian stable systems I used before trying MX.
With mx-linux this option does not appear.

Is there another way to store current session on mx or is it possible to edit the shutdown menu and add such an entry?

there should be a check box to save sessions on the Xfce logout menu. its present on my machine, and I don't think the dialog has changed for many years.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Just open "Power / Session" from the menu, right click on the wanted item and click "Add to favourites"

Hi,
Edit: Oh, the OP is asking about KDE (these are Xfce)
Yes Sir!

So in (my) KDE-world things look like this:

... and system settings:

Sorry, my solution is for the Applications menu only. I'd had this problem in beta release already, but got fixed probably in the later plasma releases as it's not happening any more.

Hi markol,

are you running MX nightly?
If its fixed for you, I wonder what am I doing wrong?

Could you please tell me the name of the *.desktop file, which should exists if you can add it via rightclick to whatever place?
