[SOLVED] Answer is: vino ; I successfully Installed a "standard-as-is" 32-bit "wildflower" 21.1 xfce onto a desktop DELL 32-bit 2-thread Pentium 3.8 GHz. ; RAM: 3 GB HD: 500 GB ;
Prior of doing my own Installing/Tinkering of a stable Remote-Desktop server, I am asking for assistance. I also noticed that the dconf-editor is pre-installed and functional.
I noticed in my MX install, that in the native software in the "Synaptic-Packages App Inventory", there are 2 vnc-type servers: (a) "x11vnc" and (b) "vino" ; it is clear that they are NOT pre-installed ; In the recent-past I tried other branded 32-bit-DISTROs and I was unable to get the combo vnc-server-viewer to work properly. The typical failure I encountered was: Connection established, Password authenticated properly, disabled-encryption: BUT on the viewer-side I get a blank page (in-lieu of the remote desktop screen).
So, which brand of vnc server/viewer combo will work with MX 21.1 32-bit ? My personal preference is "vino" with the dconf "org/gnome/desktop/remote" setup . . . but I wonder if that will work or will-I encounter again similar setbacks as it occurred in the other DISTROs ?
[SOLVED] : Select a VNC remote-Desktop server: vino ? or x11vnc ?
