A lot of packages not needed anymore after update

#1 Post by lilith »

I just made and update and there were ~250MB downloaded.

Now it tells me that there are a lot of unneeded packages, which looks strange to me. Was there a major change recently. It also looked like some packages have been built, but I don't have a screenshot.

if you're recently removed kde/plasma and imagemagick, then the autoremoves are probably fine.

Hmm.. I never had KDE and I also did not remove imagemagick. The latter is still installed. It's also a more or less brand new installation.

most of those package are KDE libraries. did you have a KDE app installed that you removed?

maybe supply the output of "apt-history"

not that I'm aware of. Here's the output. During the last upgrade it looked also that some packages have been built. I don't have the data, but there was also something like "make dkms... " and it took quite long.

Code: Select all

$ apt-history

Thanks, I never seen this before in Ubuntu. That's why I'm asking.

that's the entire apt-history?

those libarires are not installed on a basic 21.3 Xfce iso. doing something like installing then removing dolphin might do it, or maybe some other Qt application, but what exactly I can't tell you. at least one of those libs is a depend of knotes. another is for gwenview.
