Wireless not found
I everyone. Since my first trial a couple years ago I'm back for another try!
I have bought a new laptop, and here I go again for MX linux dual boot with Windows.
So far looks ok, except that I'm unable to connect wireless. Don't know why, but when I go to network connections, there isn't any wireless connection. Any idea?
Thanks.

Re: Wireless not found
We need your computer’s complete profile before we can diagnose a problem like this so you need to post the output from the QSI utility. The Quick System Info (QSI) utility is located in MX Tools and its output is automatically formatted for use here in the forum. All you have to do after running QSI is click ‘paste’ here in a new post in your thread.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Re: Wireless not found
Till you post the QSI: Disable "Fast Startup" in Windows and disable "secure boot" in Bios settings.

Re: Wireless not found
The secure boot is already disabled. But didn't disabled the fast Startup.
But since windows isn't booted, how can affect the wireless in MX?

Re: Wireless not found
Because with Fast Startup enabled, Windows doesn't completely shut down and some services like hard drive access are always on.tmgfigueiredo wrote: Tue Oct 18, 2022 7:33 am The secure boot is already disabled. But didn't disabled the fast Startup.

Re: Wireless not found
You can install 5.19 kernel from "MX Package Installer" - "Popular Apps" tab with 2 clicks, reboot and try.
(That one already requires 5.14 + kernels)
It may also help this:

If you like, you can try AHS release, or turn this one into AHS. But in all cases install that most recent kernel (at least till 6.0 is there).
Though your question was not about graphics: You don't have nomodeset etc. in your boot parameters to cause that "vesa", so, an xorg.conf may be causing that:

Re: Wireless not found
12th gen Intel hardware requires the AHS packages and a newer kernel. No doubt about it.
AHS should be the default ISO for new laptops like the OP mentioned buying. If they want to download and test it in a live Session, everything should work out of the box. They could reinstall AHS and save their home folder, or just add the ahs section of our repo, upgrade everything that's upgradeable, then add a newer 5.18/5.19 kernel and install "linux-firmware" to match the newer kernel (which will remove a lot of older firmware packages, don't worry, that's by design).
That also seems to be an Optimus laptop, so they should read up on how to use PRIME GPU switching in MX 21 after using the MX Nvidia Installer after updating to AHS. Like so, with this Dell:
I am rebuilding the Sid 6.0.2 kernel for MX 21 right now, BTW.
So far, so good.
