Forum issues

#1 Post by linexer2016 »

Has anyone else experienced what I have on two separate computers? Upon logging into the forum my login credentials sometimes have to be repeated before they accept. Secondly, once logged in, if I go to another part of the forum (say to check a particular post) it seems sometimes, I am logged out again! I'd be keen to hear if anyone else is having similar issues.

It seems to work fine for me. Perhaps your VPN or settings causing that.
I am command line illiterate. I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.

Make sure you check that remember me checkbox when you log in. If I don't then I get kicked off regularly.

Yes, sometimes I have a similar issue:
I leave the PC on all day and put it into sleep mode when I don't need it. Sometimes, when I want to use the Firefox tab with MX Forum again, it happens that I have to log in again. I do not use a VPN. I have noticed that it happens more often when I write a post in a thread. If I just browse through the forum without writing anything, it doesn't tend to happen.

IIRC there is a session timeout. but also, if you change networks, (like different wifi networks or switching to a mobile wlan connection) then the old session is no longer valid and you need to login again.

@dolphin_oracle You recall correctly. That is normal behavior. Sessions will expire after 60 minutes.

Do you want to say, that we have to log in again after 60 minutes without action?

I cannot confirm this. I am usually logged in for much longer without any problems.

I am logged in all day long, as long as I remember to tick that tickbox.
