Create launcher in KDE?

#1 Post by cbiweb »

In Xfce I can right-click the desktop and choose Create Launcher (not shortcut, which is different)

KDE Plasma doesn't have this option. Where can I find it?

Open menu, navigate to the application you want to link, right click, select "Add to Desktop" or "Add to Panel (Widget)" or "Pin to Taskbar"

hint: you may want to replace Task Manager with Icons-only Task Manager (right click, "Show alternatives...")

Ah, ok, yes. Thanks. I'm still getting used to the Linux terminology, which apparently changes between desktops, lol. (Xfce's menu says "Create launcher")'

Thanks! And thanks for the tip about Task Manager.

@Eadwine Rose I opened a new topic which hopefully is clearer about what I need to accomplish. My terminology was wrong, because all I know are Windows terms at this point. Still getting used to the Linux world.

Yeah, I thought I clicked Edit but when I clicked Submit it was actually another reply. It was also early, pre-coffee, and I panicked. lol

Pre-coffee happens

Next time coffee is lacking, just report the one that is wrong with the ! button so we can remove it.
