Stopped connect to WIFI after update driver wl0 Broadcom BCM4313

#1 Post by kalomiris »

Before a few days I installed in HP PAVILION laptop MX LINUX 21.1.
In live usb wifi it was ok. The same for the first 2 days.
From 3th day stopped to connect with wifi!
Now connected after 2 days! But I am afraid that maybe happen again. I dont know what is the fault.
I try to connect also with a TENDA WIFI stick but didnt work.
I connected with live usb and connected in most times with wifi.
When system try to connect with my wifi i read : configuring interface. And after a little i take the message in a new window: connection deactivated.
Do have some advise? Thank you.

You might try accessing your router and configuring it to only broadcast in "G" mode only. A lot of the older B/G/N wifi cards can't complete the handshake routine in the time allotted by newer routers before they switch broadcast modes.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

On the underside of your router, there should be a label with the dotted decimal address of the router (it will be something like 192.168.x.x) and the default password. All you have to do to access the router is type that number string into the address bar of your browser and supply the default password when prompted. By the way, you should change that password ASAP. If the label is missing or unreadable, you'll have to look in the router's manual for instructions.

that address can also usually be found with the command

Code: Select all

ip route
after where it says "default via".
