MX21 (KDE particularly) and NORDPASS

I had a very difficult time getting these to play nicely. I was able to figure out how to "make it work" after a few days and thought maybe this would be of help. This is how I got it to install correctlly
As you probably know. Nordvpn require systemd. Since you are probably using the vpn if you are using the pw manager by NORD, I assumed you are booting into systemd. So I went ahead and used snap, rather than the flatpak method of install. Nord "supports" snap install, even though they were baffled by this. I also found the same errors when I did a flatpak install, so this MAY work to help with that route of installation. I just did not try it. YMMV
1) Follow the instructions here https://snapcraft.io/install/nordpass/debian (I rebooted after installing snapcraft AND after core AND after nordpass... just b/c I had such a time of it)
2) after installing nordpass, type in the app launch, open a terminal and type in the launch command (nordpass) and you will likely get this error msg : "/user.slice/user-1000.slice/session-3.scope is not a snap cgroup" There is a page in the snap forums where it talks about "sorta" the same problem here https://forum.snapcraft.io/.../cannot-l ... p.../27700
3 Run the command on the page listed above, which is sudo apt-get install dbus-user-session && systemctl --user start dbus
4) This should cause NORDPASS to launch, but also generate a "keyring" error. I thought this bizarre, as I have always associated keyring errors with gnome, particularly Ubuntu gnome, but I was born yesterday and know nothing, so .... I ran this command after a search:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-keyring
5) reboot (this may or may not be necessary... may just be the evil spirits from Windows that have not yet been exorcized!)
6) you will either get a keyring password entry thingey upon boot or upon a terminal command to start nordpass (I don't remember which happens first)
My advice is to disregard the warning when you DO NOT ENTER A PASSWORD and just enter on the password. This will avoid an annoying "nag" of entering your p/w on boot. You aren't using a password keeper ring anyway... that is why you are using Nordpass. Again, up until this point you should NOT be using the gui app launcher. It will act like it is launching and just disappear, with no feedback on the screen. Stay in the terminal so you can see the errors.
At this point in time, you should have a fully functioning version of Nordpass on MX-KDE.
I hope this is helpful.Again, it took me 3 days to figure this out, but that may be more of a comment on my lack of prowess than the difficulty. If so, consider this "one noob to another."
