Hello, I'm on Mx linux and loving it. I had to update my PC recently and it came with a RTL8111GR for Ethernet. The connection is not stable and I have seen some posts that refer to similar behavior as mine. I'm not an expert and tried some things to fix it until I discovered this page https://repology.org/project/r8168/versions which sort of showed me that it could be an outdated driver version issue as my new PC is with recent hardware. And so, my question is : is there anyway of installing 8.049.02 version on Mx linux ? Cause I really don't want to go Arch. Thanks in advance for your help.

You have the newer Mesa from AHS but your system says it was created with the stock MX-19.

Did you add the AHS Repo and update from it or something?

There is a slightly newer driver in Debian Backports, in the meantime you can use MXPI to install that one.

Not that it’s the case, but not all hardware is good because it is new, but let’s try and isolate it’s not bad hardware.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I had mx 19 and updated to AHS. Didn't do a fresh install. I'm a bit techie but not a lot in linux, I mean I know how to manage the shell and do step by step things and sort of find out solutions for not too complex problems but I'm quite ignorant of most processes in linux. Now I have 8.048.03-NAPI but in MXPI back ports there is 8.048.03-1 bpo10+1. Do you recommend installing it ?
About the things that I tried, it was mainly changing 8168 to 8169 as some people said it was working better with rtl8111gr. But it didn't help. Also the problem is not continuous. It's even hard to define it. The main symptom is that sometimes I have to disconnect the connection in the task bar and reconnect it to have access to the internet.
