Hello. i'm a beginner in Linux OS and MxLinux itself.
I know for a beginner it's recommended starts with Ubuntu, but i tried it and it's slow for my machine, so yeah, that's it.
I'm getting some problems about Firefox Browser on MxLinux19: when i execute it, it don't start or takes a loong, really long time to start, about 2 hours.
My hdd had been showing problems and probably will fail soon, MxLinux itself warned about this sooner fail when i installed it. Also, i can't connect to any wireless network after that problem.
If someone could help me and explain how hdd affects all these circunstances, i would be very thankful.
Firefox Browser
Re: Firefox Browser
I recommend you run GSmartControl and test that drive. If your drive is bad or on it's way out the only thing you can do is to replace it. I hope you post your results. I also recommend you post Quick System Info.
I am command line illiterate.
I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.

Based on "MxLinux itself warned about this sooner fail when i installed it.", it's sounds you like installed MX-Linux to the HDD, which is failing, coughing up bits and bytes, and instead of speedily & accurately fetching & storing data.GilsonJunio wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2020 2:39 pm I'm getting some problems about Firefox Browser on MxLinux19: when i execute it, it don't start or takes a loong, really long time to start, about 2 hours.

But, it's also possible that you have some bad memory, which could cause corrupted data to be written to the disk, which can appear as the disk failing.
You can try the following from the menu:
- GSmartControl (Monitor and control SMART data on hard disk and solid state disk
- and verify there are disk issues.
You probably want to avoid the disk.
I suggest, if you have an alternative computer, you use that to make a Live USB stick with MX-Linux, then run your failing system from the USB stick.
Generally, it's preferable to use USB-3 sticks 16GB or bigger, but if you are very patient, a USB-2 will work, *slowly*.
Of course, to take advantage of the USB-3 speed the system has to have a USB-3 port.
Good luck!
