log out then at the login screen explore the dropdown menus in the upper right. One of those lets you select the DE you want to log in with.
Please read the Forum Rules, How To Ask For Help, How to Break Your System and Don't Break Debian. Always include your full Quick System Info (QSI) with each and every new help request.

Sometime you have to manually add yourself to the .xsessions

I do a Desktop shortcut to exec a DE or WM and add it here.

/usr/share/xsessions

I had to do this when I install Pekwm. Example; pekwm.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Pekwm
Comment=Use this session to run Pekwm as your desktop environment
Keywords=window-manager
Exec=pekwm
Icon=
Type=Application

Then the drop down menu at the Display Manager it will appear to start using it. Just do the same with cinnamon.

cinnamon-session

exec /usr/bin/cinnamon-session

Perhaps a screenshot should be provided by OP to make sure we are talking about the same thing when he says there is no cinnamon dropdown menu in the top right.
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
