UKUI Desktop MX Respin?

For the first time this morning I just read about the KYLIN Ubuntu-based distro with its UKUI desktop:
UKUI: http://www.ukui.org/ukui.html
KYLIN: http://www.ubuntukylin.com/
A search for UKUI here in the forum brought up nothing, so I am wondering if anyone here has played with this desktop in MX, and has any comment on whether it is worth exploring. It apparently advertises that it is Debian-compatible.
UKUI appears to be largely a Windows7 style look, which can be both good and bad, but if it is targeted to the Chinese market, which I presume is huge, I am wondering if it is already or soon will have special features that the smaller-team desktops are not able to match. For example I can't tell if they have their own file manager or have developed their own, and file managing is an area where I keep looking for improvement as I can't seem to find all the features I want in any single place.
Anyone played with UKUI, know whether it is light, mid, or heavy weight, or know if it has any specially designed applications that make it worth exploring? Looks like it has a unique software center, but available in only chinese. I can't tell how much custom work has gone into the rest.
