WARNING: Turn down your volume first!

34 miles off of Cape Fear, NC. Currently still far from the eyewall, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deG4NxkouGM&app=desktop

It was formerly a light tower, but the page says it was converted to a bed and breakfast.

Thanks Stevo. See the forecast has changed, earlier Florence was due to track west, now they think she will turn northwards. Always unpredictable. Been through two of these in the Pacific and certainly not a pleasant experience.

Wow! It's just unimaginable what it would be like to be there.

Of course, there's a much stronger super typhoon due to hit the Phillipines and then China in the next few days, too... but I don't know of any comparable live cams for it.

Not only Florence and the Carolinas, but things look nasty just north of Boston too. You folk are having a bad September.

It looks like the eye must have passed over the Frying Pan tower cam in the night...and now it looks like the tattered flag has also been replaced. Did someone actually ride out that storm in the tower, and was the one moving the camera around? My hat's off to them if that's the case.
