Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
I've been working on a BT keyboard setup, and have found a cron job using a time that looks like it might work: I'm wondering now if that might solve our slow (20-30 secs) time update problems, but still have to figure out what the command would be since "man ntp" returns nothing.
EDIT: Looks like "ntpdate" might be it, but that requires naming the servers...need to dig some more
EDIT2: Arch Wiki says "ntpdate.service" -- time to experiment!
Code: Select all
@reboot etc.

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
I ran and update today which updated a lot packages.
I rebooted and my new user wouldn't work. I would type in the password and then just end up back at the login screen.
I then logged into the pi user.
Tried to delete the new user and it wouldn't let me do that either.
So I created another user.
After logging in as that user firefox and palemoon would not launch. Came up with some preference or file error.
So I am back in as the pi user.

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
Did you reboot?

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
I think I just logged out and logged back in.
I have now rebooted.
I think my deletion of the first user must have done something to that user.
Now when I log into that user it logs in but is at a gray debian wallpaper with only fluxbox running.
The second user still can't launch palemoon.
Error screen says:
Your palemoon profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
No idea what you've done, sorry. The upgrades had no problems for me. Do you have outside repos enabled?

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
No outside repos
Just upgraded from the patch and then the normal upgrade.
I will reinstall and try again and see what happens.
Do I still use the patched B1 to get the B2 or is there any new downloads?

Same procedure, start with original and apply patch

Re: MXFBPi Beta 2 testing
I think I found my problem and now I just need to figure out how to fix it.
I found out that root is the owner of my new users .cache folder and it won't let my user create files or folders there.
