our ligthdm-gtk-greeter.conf has both language and keyboard menus.
Thanks, I'll check that out.

I worked my way down Application Finder>All Applications, and noted the following:

Brightness Controller Simple did nothing
Compton did nothing
Debian Reference Guide opens In Firefox
There are entries for both Claws Mail and Mail Reader
MX Fluxbox deems superfluous
MX User Manual may not be entirely relevant
nitrogen does nothing
Screens warns 'XScreenSaver daemon not running'
Tint2 does nothing
Web browser opens Firefox
1st entry for Xfce Terminal is actually for terminal preferences

most of those aren't on mx-fluxbox standard so I can't comment. a few notes:

1. tint2 only looks like it does nothing. it actually starts a second panel overtop of the running one.

2. Mail Reader and Web Browser are part of the exo-utils Xfce stuff. But they should be set to whatever the default for the pi spin is using. (I have b2 but haven't installed yet)

3. Does not the Xfce Terminal entry not say "Configure....". That's true everywhere, and shouldn't be changed.

4. what is the compton action pointing to? compton itself has no gui, so its possible the compositor started. on my standard fluxbox setup, starting compton does run the compositor, and my terminal becomes transparent they way its configured in Xfce.

Thanks, Chris. I will look at those in detail later, now have work.

The items opening in Firefox is just because we switched to Palemoon for testing and I was waiting to change the preferred setting until I saw what the story was.

Nope:

The top one is actually for setting config.

weird. I haven't looked on the pi, but this is what is present on standard fluxbox

The menu entry is 'compton'. It does nothing when clicked. When run from a terminal, the message 'Another composite manager is already running' is shown. There is no terminal transparency.

I actually suspect compton is running then when you launched it from the menu, but it doesn't do anything. I wonder if the graphics on the pi support compositing.

I don't think so, but am not sure. It comes up with some frequency on their Forum and I'll take a look.

Happy with the Pale Moon choice.

I do miss some of the Firefox add-ons...
Youtube behaving well now..
Facebook video: loud noise, half-muted voices..

Yesterday I installed Flatpak on the poor little Rpi 400.
only to be able to run Copyq 3.13... It works!
But why is Flatpak such a Fatpak? About the size of a small distro..
It does feel out of place on a minimal pc like the Rpi 400.

Thanks for Beta 2!
