Re: Wifi keeps dropping out in evening
So if he gets a better wifi USB will that help?
I did notice his is 2.4ghz and mine is 5ghz.
Child goes to bed at 8.30 and monitor goes on just after, so the mystery may have been solved

Re: Wifi keeps dropping out in evening
If that is it... as someone else suggested here moving to a network controller that has a 5g connection would probably solve that issue.

or an Ethernet connection which would render his WiFi problem moot.CharlesV wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:30 pm If that is it... as someone else suggested here moving to a network controller that has a 5g connection would probably solve that issue.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Makes it a bit awkward to shut the living room door with a cable going through it, we had that issue before.

@SpidermansLegs
Any of the USB wifi adapters listed here should be fine with MX:
https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/bl ... drivers.md
You will have to search your local computer stores or Amazon UK to see which of them are available to purchase.

Re: Wifi keeps dropping out in evening
You can also turn on the monitor at another time just to test (make sure) say, in the afternoon, try the connection, then turn it off and retry the connection.
Also try to learn the channel it's using (maybe a sticker on/under device or an info on manufacturer's site etc.) .. then again, change to a fixed channel (rather than auto) in router settings that doesn't overlap with it.

Good call Charlie! And you can install linssid to see your current wifi map, or wifi channels in use, in your house / area too. ( MX Package Installer | Enabled Repos - search for linssid )
