@Melber Thank you so much for your script. :number1:

You took something perhaps trivial, as was my observation about the dates, and you made it into a really nice feature. Now I can see "Today", "Yesterday" etc. in Thunar and with a simple click of the mouse (or a keyboard shortcut) I immediately see the actual dates and more.
If I have a weakness about software it's that I don't like mysteries. It was a mystery to me why I wasn't seeing what others were seeing, especially since I didn't recall doing any customization that may have changed my system and affect Thunar. You will have seen from my perhaps desperate postings that I wasn't getting anywhere. At one point I noticed the difference in the filenames with and without spaces and a light bulb shone over my head.

It's a good idea not to use spaces any more and I'll adopt it in Linux. Coming from MS DOS a few decades ago, I remember resisting using spaces in my filenames and directories in Windows. However, at some point I gave up and I started inserting spaces for better visibility. Well, now it has come back to bite me!

@andymx

I have amended the script in post 36. (Added the missing quoting to avoid needing to mess around with IFS.)

FYI - I don't see the Change info under properties - - that is without Melber's added script/whatever, but with the default settings in MX-21.3-Xfce.

@MXRobo I don't see it either under Properties in MX-23.

Yes, there is no need to be in front with that. ;-)
It is not long ago I began sometimes to use more than 8 letters for filenames and I still always use 3 letters for the extension.
I never allow spaces but I sometimes get them from a download.
Is it really a problem to be concerned about.?
I am sorry if you have written about it but I could not find it and so far I have never seen any problems with it on my computer.

The link gosia pointed out ( https://linuxhandbook.com/filename-spaces-linux/ ) explains the issue. It is very simple to wrap file names with " in the terminal and usually keep on going... NOT to easy to do this with some applications - so the short answer is that yes, it CAN be an issue.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer

I think that postings #46 and #47 belong in another thread :exclamation:

+1 Agreed, though I'd take out the seconds because it make it look too busy. I think seconds are only needed if you're running a server with multiple users and you have to do in depth analysis.
