so you will never update /etc/skel?
Not externally, no--at least not that I can see. But mx-fluxbox brings other items we use ATM. In the components folder, for instance, like those desktop files, the version file for About MX-Fluxbox, the exit-options package, etc. That folder may be the only place, but I'll have to look carefully.

Maybe we could duplicate the ones I need into a separate repo with a name like "mxfbpi-data" ? (can we symlink between repos?) If we were going to do something like that it would be really good to do it before this goes to Final.

And while we're thinking about that, how would users get new MX Tools--like the Job Scheduler, which would be extremely useful for the Pi crowd? Any chance we could include that marked as a beta that shows for now only in MXFBPi? Not sure how that would be done...

Back to regular programming..

I saw for the first time an icon shift on the dock that someone mentioned on Facebook. The script hadn't been changed so I decided maybe adding a bit more time would help. Replaced all the "0.1" in the script with "0.2" The shifted icons returned to normal so maybe that will take care of it.

Would appreciate it if the rest of you could also make that change in the script (~/.fluxbox/scripts/DefaultDock.mxdk) so we can all keep an eye out for any shifting icons.

We have an mx package.for apps that's specific to kde. We could do similar.

We.can build a.similar package from the same source and have them conflict with each other so only one installs at a time and each provides mx-fluxbox-data to satisfy the dependency in mx fluxbox.

That way we keep things like translations and script updates in sync eaiser.

No, but I could ask Adrian if he would be willing to send an armhf build only (?) to Tim. A number of us tested his update of the original without problem and there is a short thread in the Dev Forum:

viewtopic.php?f=86&t=61737

Would we have to say it was a beta since it's been out for 15 years and we are only updating?

1) Did you see/use the keyboard icon at the top right of the login screen? I could move that to the middle...
2) In Fluxbox the keyboard is traditionally changed with the rootMenu: right-click desktop > Settings > Keyboard.
3) If you use RPi Config to set locale, does that change the keyboard? If yes, then I can get rid of the clunky Fluxbox method altogether.
...
1. Have seen it, didn`t recognize or to late. No real problem, rembers to old DOS times
2. Flux is for first time users ... hmh, not so intuitive. Raspian LXDE looks more familiar to me ;-)
3. Yes, changed everything comfortable.

Thanks. About 1): I need to find out how to get a keyboard icon and not just the language code ("US"). About 2): the LXDE version is very good.

I have actually changed the rootMenu entry in B2 now to remove the keyboard entry and just launch Raspberry Pi Config. It's interesting how this respin is changing the Fluxbox side as we understand better the interaction between the two.
