Menu => "MX Repo Manager" , change to one of these:

(These are MX's own mirrors. Salt Lake is #1 btw.)


... Then :

or

The newer kernels are in ahs sections, if you don't have that enabled, along with newer drivers for those, but Just Plain Debian versions ought to work.

Since Mint also ships inxi by defaut, it's possible to get a working "QSI" from it.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
