What I posted before ...

So, as I said, they will not work on 'buster' based Debian derivatives.
You'll have to stick with the 0.39.4 series provided by MX/antiX (Debian does not even provide any cherrytree debs for buster).

cherrytree 0.99 series will come with MX/antiX 21 (Debian bullseye) and not sooner.

Does this statement on the referenced site mean that it might now be possible to update Cherrytree for MX-19.3?

" * this (gtkmm3) version can now build on older distributions such as debian 10 / ubuntu 18.04"

ref: https://launchpad.net/~giuspen/+archive ... hive-extra

Any chance? ;-)

@TTwrs thanks for keeping an eye out. I can try to build it later tonight.

But if a anything, if someone can test install that .deb in a VM or something in the meantime that would be cool and maybe save me trouble later.

@TTwrs that version builds no problem, need to test the .deb, will get to it in a few hours or so.

@SwampRabbit
Will be happy to test the .deb if needed. I don't do VMs but I can just install and run it. Is there somewhere I can get it?

@TTwrs my bad boss, I was just so busy I forgot to send it for inclusion in the Repos.

You can get it here

Going to send a PM to get it and a few other things added in a minute.

For those that visit this thread, Cherrytree 0.99.38 is now in the MX Test Repo.

As always, use the awesome MX Package Installer > MX Test Repo tab.

Please let us know how it works out for you.
But remember major application issues should be posted to their GitHub and this thread is for announcing the package and issues installing if any.

@joejac since you were really looking towards the newer Cherrytree on MX-19, I figured I’d mention you here so you directly know it’s available now finally… I know not everyone logs in often.
