I wouldn't attempt to migrate from MX-21 to MX-23 by any means without first understanding that the process as documented is non-trivial, has a non-zero failure rate, and results in a machine that, if broken in the process, will not get fixed by the community. It is the definition of "you broke it, you bought it" and should not be suggested to new and inexperienced users.CharlesV wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:50 pm If your attempting to jump from MX21 to MX23 ... then you should read this

I agree 100% ... it sounded like he was thinking he was going to upgrade to the newer MX23, and that was why I linked to that, and to show him it was not as simple as he thought. ( Passive method of 'dont do it" ;-/ )DukeComposed wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 6:31 pmI wouldn't attempt to migrate from MX-21 to MX-23 by any means without first understanding that the process as documented is non-trivial, has a non-zero failure rate, and results in a machine that, if broken in the process, will not get fixed by the community. Some parents warn their kids away from sticking coins into electrical outlets.
Some parents realize that their kids will only make that mistake once.
This entire thread was created because of a non-issue misunderstanding between bookworm and bullseye in the configs and another misunderstanding, vis-a-vis "if you're going to upgrade, here's a link to the instructions", could easily been seen as an invitation instead of as a dire, dire warning.
