I believe I found the issue.

I have postimages.org allowed when I'm on the postimage web site. (cell is green on the left)

When I'm on the forum the cell points to postimage.org (cell is red on the left).

If you type postimage.org into your address bar, you get redirected to postimages.org instead.
Can the link address be changed to postimages.org?

A phpBB extension provides the function. I would not want to change that script. It also appears to work for the users who have made use of it. Can you whitelist the Forum in ublock?
I also have ublock. But no 3rd party scripts are blocked on the Forum.

It (Ub-O) works fine for me in Brave, because Brave won't retain my "I'm an advanced user" settings – great!@(&?!

But it will retain them in Chromium, and simply allowing the second "local-rules" column of third-party scripts enables it for me, but again – Chromium.
EDTI - learned, or became more familiar with Ub-O from post #25.

Didn't try the extra clicks and yep same here.

I have uBO's blocking mode set to medium which block all 3rd party scripts/frames globally.
I've gotten accustomed to allowing cells (temporarily) to get the web site to render if I don't see the reader view icon in the address bar.

I enabled the postimage.org cell and clicked on the padlock to save my settings (box turned grey on right side). I now get the link at the bottom of the quick reply box.

Is anyone resizing their image? and if so, which option are you using?

About uBlockO I thought it was installed and up running decided to check my addons nope not there checked MXPI no not installed checked Firefox and installed uBO, now go to the links images hah
Checked the images again and
the image in posts before the uBO install same as before (portrait) the go to images after uBO install work fine that's in correct display mode.
So is it something to do with uBlock Origin ? (not being there before)

@richb There is one side effect having this enabled. When you use the Full Editor & Preview and you want to add an image (attachment) the file manager defaults to looking for *.odt files.
Click on the arrow next to *.odt and select All Files. (with this Add image to post link disabled, the file manager defaults to All Files).

Just want to point this out if someone posts that they can't add attachments anymore using the Full Editor & Preview option.

Ah yep, it did that for me too, the odt thing, now that you mention it. I wager that is something for the extension devs to sort out, not us.

Reporting special effects :bagoverhead: on editor (quick reply and full editor) answer box. For every text, selected and drag. You'll receive a perhaps collateral unexpected glitch/behavior/surprise ?... or just a big impact on your sub :goodevil: :bouncingsheep: :bongodrums: :punchout: , having account that we are concentrated on writing that is annoying. Try it.

As an early user of postimage in this forum (nothing against imgur, just I get bigger dimensions to see details with postimage) Initially I'm happy to see the plug-in for the forum. But this behavior is annoying.

Cheers and Kernelite for everyone MX'ers.
