I'm back in my XFCE

It was at the bottom of the selection menu.
Thank you so much.

But still, what did I do wrong during install, that it didn't recognize the XFCE version? Why this trouble in the first place?
Thank you very much in advance

Well maybe it's just me, that rather thinks that such an issue is self-made, instead of thinking that os-prober and btrfs caused it.

Hence the question what i did wrong. Maybe simple as selecting the wrong thing during the installation.

Non the less, thank you very much for the immediate help and getting me back on track

The question you did'nt ask: How to have two btrfs based MX installation in a way
you can choose to boot into.
The anwser: Not supported by GRUB - use something else.
On UEFI boot: Simply install rEFInd, to get a nice boot selection menu.

Just wanted to add that @fehlix helped me immensely with my own GRUB issues in the past. I installed rEFInd, and love it!!!

Here is a link to the post that Fehlix and others helped me with. It's pretty long, but the relevant parts for you @argonaut459 are probably from post #64 and on:

https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 81#p668181

In that thread, there is quite a bit about installing GRUB menu entries for multiple distro installs.
