Whenever you change repo sources, you need to refresh the package lists to use the data from the new repo sources. Either use
sudo apt update
or
sudo apt-get update
or
right click on the updater-icon in panel and select "check for updates" to redo the rechecking process
or
if you use Synaptic package manager, open it and click on the "Reload" button
or
if you use MX Package installer, open it, go to "Enabled Repos" and click on the "Refresh list" button.

Re: Updating repository Error
One advantage of using nala is that will update first automatically, by default. And is prettier.asqwerth wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:14 pm Whenever you change repo sources, you need to refresh the package lists to use the data from the new repo sources. Either use

MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

@Stevo
I forgot about nala, since I'm the one who once in a while has an issue with nala continuing to run when all the updates are already completed.
So while I think I still have one or 2 older MX systems with nala installed , I don't use it in MX23.
