hi guys

i need your help

i have been using mxlinux for a long time without any problem and so i wanted to install it also in a dated pc ( 4gb ram, 500hd, mb and legacy bios x64)

this pc has no battery and that i use only with the adapter

after installing the latest version of mx linux xfce x64 i go to the power management section and here as i have always done i disable anything and put the screen off at 20 minutes ( i have always done it this way without ever having a problem)

but after the 20 minutes the screen deactivated I can no longer activate it ( as if it was dormant or suspended)

how can i solve it?

some other option I need to turn on or off?

thanks

Can you please post "Quick System Info" from menu ?

Maybe it's a suspend-wake-up issue? (If it's set to that amount of time, too)

Also, this is overlooked many times:

2 sub-tabs there: "When on battery" and "when pluuged in"..

So, do the settings for both..

Ok, but.. doesn't it reboot? (... turn off by force (press and hold the power button) then start etc?)

yes, since I can't activate the screen then I will reactivate the pc

yes yes, the pc is reactivated without any problems and then I can use normally

Ok, till we understand what causes that, this will turn the power manager settings to defaults (reset)

Code: Select all

rm ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-power-manager.xml
Reboot.

(Just a normal terminal, no root )

Ok, but again QSI will be the best, to see all, drivers etc..

Yes, sometimes that's (power button) needed. (Though there are alternatives like REISUB that sometimes makes even worse, freeze completely :) )
