I don't want to be forced to update flatpaks if I don't want to. I recall lollypop media player being actively developed, but the changes and updates made it worse and worse (they removed the internet radio function) when I updated it in Manjaro (no choice since it is a rolling distro).

At that time, I was using lollypop on flatpak in MX and I was so happy I could choose not to update if I didn't want to. The problem with flatpaks, from what I can tell, is that you can't just update one package at a time. You have to update all the flatpaks in your system.

Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

Because the mxlinux community is more active in this section; most use kde. Other than that, the base OS is the same, the apps are the same, and the repositories are the same.

I am grateful to mxlinux: for their apps very interested in helping users. I started using kde, but it wasn't as fast as cinnamon, aesthetically cinnamon beats it too...

MXlinux has done an excellent job of making linux easier for users and linuxmint has worked hard on their cinnamon desktop to make it modern, fast and slightly windows-like in appearance.

For which I am grateful to these two great communities.

You post in the section that you use, not because there is more traffic. Moving to regular help forum.
