The admin panel has a load setting so that the session expires after 60 minutes of inactivity. I do know that if I do not interact with the Forum it eventually times out and closes my session requiring logging in again. I cannot vouch for what that time period is in my case. i am just quoting the board setting.Duliwi wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 4:55 pmDo you want to say, that we have to log in again after 60 minutes without action?richb wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 4:47 pm @dolphin_oracle You recall correctly. That is normal behavior. Sessions will expire after 60 minutes.
I cannot confirm this. I am usually logged in for much longer without any problems.

Re: Forum issues
Ok thanks everyone for your input. I will ER check the box (never had to before however). As I've said now in the addendum, it does appear that the forum software now requires that check box if one wants to avoid the issue I've described. Must have been some update to the forum software methinks.

Re: Forum issues
Addendum to my solved status .... it seems that the forum now requires that check box "remember me" as I've logged out and back in but (for the first time ever) now checked the box and the problem seems resolved.
Re: Forum issues
I'll have to check but I never get logged out and I have my machine running day and night.
One thing I am doing on the forum is in firefox I have a tab refresh plugin running and it refreshes the page every 5 min.

Re: Forum issues
The Forum sees the refresh as activity so will not logout.MAYBL8 wrote: Tue Jul 19, 2022 8:51 am I'll have to check but I never get logged out and I have my machine running day and night.

Re: Forum issues
Since inacting the check box to "keep me logged in" I have no issues maintaining connectivity. Just odd that it seems a relatively new development as far as I am concerned however, it may be the type of session interaction I have done in the past that didn't cause the log out issue but I am not entirely certain. Anyway the thread is and can remain solved.

Re: Forum issues
Yes ER, I suppose it must then be that you participate/use/visit the forum differently than I do which is a quick regular check and then normally log out soon after. Again, I had done this exact method for a number of years and never had to check the box. It matters little, putting in a check mate (watch out for the pun).
