Tried that now - makes no difference, alas.

At the risk of being incredibly boring for going on about this, just to say I have had the same thing also happen on the latest Manjaro, so it's highly likely this is NOT an MX related problem but something to do with Gimp.

Well when @Stevo first suggested that, I tried it and apparently failed to solve the problem that way. However, just for kicks I just now installed both xdg-desktop-portal and portal-gtk versions from backports again, tried Gimp 2.10.32, and found that yes, now color picker was actually working persistently as expected.

Or so I thought. Problem returned, albeit with much greater delay than before (earlier attempts, two or three times using the picker, and it stopped working; now it took over half an hour so I was lulled into a false sense of triumph.). However, on Manjaro I had found that if you remove the xdg-portal packages alltogether, that does get this thing to function as prescribed. Sadly, if you do that, you lose flatpak and snap support so on balance, at least if you need either of those, that seems a heavy price to pay. So back to 2.10.28 it is.

I promise I won't post on this subject again. Ever.

Unless I come across a PERMANENT solution :bagoverhead:
