Hello everyone! First post here and first time using linux in about a decade! After one of the updates, KDE discover is not working. It says unable to load applications please verify internet connectivity. How would I fix this? I have mxlinux 21 dual booted.

I have connection to the internet and other app managers work. Firewall doesn't effect it if its on or off.

Update-2 out of 3 working. Application Add-ons still gets stuck on "Still looking". No network complaints.

I see similar to BGums. the Application Addons category, when selected, never loads.
there are a few error reports spanning different distros for the error the OP reported. I've not seen an actual solution, other than sometimes discover just starts working again.
@Adrian any ideas?

Yeah Application Addons doesn't work here either, I think we got stuck with a bug from whatever was put in Bullseye, I saw the same report on Debian forums.

Today I launched Discover for the first time.
The process of updating packages is hidden from the user. In fairness, it should be noted that the program worked 100%, although I stopped it ahead of schedule.
But Synaptic and MX-Updater are much more informative and convenient.

Are there any updates on the topic? I have the same issue.
What i tried is typing: sudo nala purge plasma-discover and then: sudo nala install plasma-discover --install-suggests --install-recommends. Did not help.
What I have noticed is that in Discover's settings is that the backends are missing: Flatpak backend, Packagekit backend ans Snap backend (attached screenshot). I have Flatpak and fwudp backend installed. Also packagekit and apper are installed.
Tried reinstalling the backends, also did not help.

I'm having the same problem. I just installed MX-KDE last week, and Discover has never worked from the start.
Are there any updates?

"Never worked" is rather useless feedback, it works for me, it works for other people, how exactly is not working? What do you try to install or update, what is the error message?

Hello to all,
2 out of 10 installations of MX KDE, at least, I get that error on KDE Discover.
I have tried many solutions found on the internet, even if there are few and the only one that works is :
Sometimes I also have to first do this :
MX Repo Mangarer -- Individual sources --
Restore original APT sources

There were some reports about store.kde.org having problems. Could be related.
If site works, try updating/installing addons directly (just install ocs-url)
I haven't used Discover... well, never. MX's apt-notifier and muon are my tools of choice (+ disabled Discover in systray and notifications)

I had the same problem after a new install, MX 21.3 KDE. The reinstall appstream solution mentioned by FLOW worked for me. No problems now.
Thanks FLOW.
