I will send it to test.

I'll also see if the latest kdeconnect from Sid can build on our older KDE...many apps, like Marble, can do that.

If it helps - I applied Norbert's patch on 5.23 and KDE Connect behaves on its best terms. No lags on call notifications and no timeouts during shutdown.

here's the backports of kdeconnect 21.08.3...it's just a single deb for your architecture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AzA98- ... sp=sharing

Installed along your version of plasma-workspace. Works as expected with an android set, although i cannot say i am noticing any difference with the stock bullseye version.

Installed patched version. As baldyeti, I see no difference compared to Bullseye version.

Yeah---we need someone that experienced the problems to see if there's any improvement.

Rest assured there is improvement Stevo, just not the complete elimination of the issue i was hoping for.

I am seeing your packages already in MXPI, hopefully some users will comment about it.
@markol , if you still have a regular MX21 install with KDE 5.20, could you please give this a shot ?

Anyway, i don't know that users of other distributions are that well and fast taken care of !

Extra data point: on another system with MX21 KDE, i installed your new kdeconnect from MXPI/test and it did not (on its own) solve the post session delay issue. After i also installed your patched version of plasma-workspace, rhe delay is now gone. Improvement confirmed !

I shall repeat what the symptom is so people can decide whether they want to try the patched version: kdeconnect the app has always been working, but the workspace+kdeconnect combo in the original 5.20 version bundled in MX21/bullseye suffers from a delay experienced when closing a
plasma session. So typically when logging out a ~ 10s delay is incurred before seeing the sddm login dialog again. When doing a shutdown/reboot, you may not realise what is going on and just think the system is slow to stop. This delay is eliminated in the patched version.

Note that the delay in itself is annoying if not unbearable but on occasions the login/shutdown/reboot can be indefinitely delayed in my experience (i could still kill the X server or reboot from a console, but initiating the operation from the plasma session would just linger forever in those rarer occurrences).

I updated the kid's laptop running 5.20 and the patched plasma-workspace from Stevo's repo did the trick. No more timeouts on reboot/logout. Good job!
