pax-eterna wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 3:13 pm I'd rather not use Thunderbird, so I was wondering what others use/recommend for MX?

I am coming from windows using outlook (both online and the 365 version on local) so something that can connect with that. Thunderbird can use outlook, but as I wrote I'd rather not use it if possible.

Thanks
Check out Mailspring. I used it a few years ago and it felt "pro" with support for many protocols. The free version is good enough and it is FOSS on GitHub. I only need IMAP so I use Interlink. I'm considering going back to Mailspring despite having a weakness for more niche software.

Thunderbird, but I'm waiting for MailSpring to make registration optional to give it a try.

While Mailspring’s focus on growing a paid user base has been critical to building a sustainable foundation for the open-source project, it has also made it less appealing to users interested in a basic free client. While you can use Mailspring entirely for free, you’ve had to create a Mailspring ID to do so. (The “Mailspring ID” stores metadata that can’t be synced to IMAP for snoozing, send later and read receipts, and holds your “Pro” membership should you upgrade.)

In the first half of this year, I will merge changes making it possible to opt-out of the Mailspring ID and use the app without it’s web services. (Please be aware this is not a trivial change!)

Use Thunderbird. Better to get over your prejudice.

I used to use Sylpheed-claws (in windows). Atm, with the secure servers I use I refuse to pay the extra monthly fee so that I can use a client. Web browser here all the way. I wish I could use a client. I'd try to go back to Sylpheed. I use evolution atm for contacts and calendar only. Thunderbird is as history as the insecure servers you can access for free. Nothing against Tbird, I just prefer sylpheed.
