Samba network share

Hello and now a question on my second computer, Linux MX works great. I just have one problem. I cannot access the Linux PC with my Windows PC, even if I have distributed the shares, have activated Samba and a ping works. Something is blocking communication.
I will also send the configuration of the PC again afterwards.

Hello what did I forget!
Smb1 Windows SMB is switched on on Windows and a ping is also possible, but I cannot get a connection between Windows and Linux.

You don't need (and shouldn't enable SMB1) unless you have a really old version of Windows (if its that old you shouldn't be using it i.e. 98se or XP).
If I recall from a similar thread, SMB1 is not even enabled by default on the version of Samba we have.

Please provide some more information.

What version of Windows are you using?

From Windows can you see the MX Linux machine? (you only stated you can't access)

... You can check first with command:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/samba/smbusers
# and
smbtree

So I have the latest version of Windows 10.
Furthermore, I see the Linux computer in Windows but cannot access it.

The web is full of sites with instructions for setting up samba shares in Debian and accessing them in Windows: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=samba+shares+ ... 1-1&ia=web
For example: https://vitux.com/debian_samba/

This problem has been discussed at length (but not really solved for W10):-
viewtopic.php?f=108&t=60217

Edit:-
In MX18 samba does work OK with earlier versions of MSWindows.

Your issue is not the same as the OP, please don't cross reference it as it is not relevant.

Thank you, by "see the Linux computer" do you mean you can see the actual shares?

What do you mean by "cannot access it", what occurs when you try, is there a warning or message?

Hello, how often do you like Linux MX very much, but I am actually a beginner in this field and would like a simple function of the connection between Windows 10 and Linux mx.
The MX computer can be clearly seen in Windows Explorer where I can access it.
Error code the network path was not found.
I could attach a picture.

I hope it will be relatively easier and that I can do the overstretching of tools built into MX.

Is there maybe a guide somewhere what I have to set in Linux MX 18?
I have 2 computers with MX18 and I don't know what I've done, but one works with Window 10 in the network.
